n Engineering Inc. was retained in 2015 to provide engineering services for the development of a gas station and convenience store on a 0.5-acre site in Wellandport, Ontario. The scope of work included site grading and servicing, stormwater management, entrance design, and construction review.
One of the key challenges of the project was the installation of the fire water reservoir tank within a limited design area. Shallow groundwater conditions required a larger tank footprint while maintaining the required setbacks from the proposed building and property lines. After multiple design iterations, the available space was optimized, and a four-component tank system was designed and installed. n Engineering Inc. also developed an efficient and innovative grading and drainage solution that provided a seamless and unobstructed driving surface across the site while meeting the requirements of the Township of West Lincoln and the Regional Municipality of Niagara.
n Architecture Inc., supported the project through the Site Plan Approval and Building Permit stages. Both teams worked closely together to secure approvals for site servicing and grading while maintaining consistency with the overall design intent.
Construction commenced in 2020, with n Engineering Inc. conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress, maintain safety standards, and document completed work and upcoming construction activities. The project was successfully completed in September 2021.
